For Bologna, I understand this to be very, very classic. Almost old school.
And therefore excellent, because the local cuisine is fantastic.
This place was so good i am shocked the rating is not higher. Tucked away on a small lane inside the Quadrilateral but away from the tourists. Small, maybe 40 seats split between 2 dining rooms. On a Sunday when i was there it was all locals. About 8 selections for Primi and the same for Secondi. Many dishes that i couldn't find in US Italian restaurants. I had a straw and hay pasta followed by veal done Bolognese style topped with truffles. Superb. Service was top notch as well though they were busy with regulars. I had local Sangiovese wine and they offer a complimentary glass of prosecco as you sit down. And the prices were so reasonable, i couldn't believe it. So, if you want true local food, away from the tourists this is a wonderful choice.
The food was in the local style, well prepared and the flavours were delicious. Wine was fantastic and very reasonably priced, and the amuse bouche at the start of the meal was a nice touch. The staff were great too. It was so good we returned two days later. Totally worth a visit!
Simply amazing. The chef coming to the table to present his surprise of the day, the welcome glass of Prosecco upon arrival, the quality of the pasta (especially our tagliatelle, passatelli with black truffle, and tortelloni with fossa)…. Everything was out of this world. 10/10 recommended. A great example of how a restaurant should be. They are doing everything right. Wouldn’t hesitate to come here with a group of colleagues experiencing Bologna for the first time or close friends and family. Great ambience and fantastic food for the price.
One of the nicest meals we had in bologna. The tortellini in brodo was superb and the beef fillet was the best beef I have ever had. I highly recommend for anyone visiting!
4 of us has a delicious 2 courses there last night, excellent service and reasonably priced wine list. Thoroughly recommend it and advise booking a table
This is a really sweet family run restaurant in the heart of Bologna. My daughter had pizza while I opted for the dish of the day, Grilled pork steaks. Wonderfully grilled and served by the chef himself. Total bill can to less than €20 which is incredible. Totally recommend this place.
Highly recommend. Tasty local dishes, very polite and attentive staff. Interior is very cozy with antique vibe
